NSW: Labor says federal govenrment must investigate rape claims
SYDNEY, Feb 21 AAP - Labor is demanding the federal government carry out an immediate
investigation into the alleged rapes of a 98-year-old woman in a Victorian nursing home.
A man has been charged in the case, reported last night by ABC TV's Lateline program
which said the woman was raped on several occasions in the nursing home and other elderly
residents were sexually assaulted by the same male staff member.
Deputy Opposition Leader Jenny Macklin described the rapes as "horrific" and called
on the Howard government to act …
