Fed: Hollingworth suggests he's caught in litigation crossfire
Governor-General PETER HOLLINGWORTH has made a veiled reference to the rising criticismof his handling of child sexual abuse incidents when he was Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane.
He's suggested during a conference in Melbourne that he's been caught in the crossfireof litigation.
Opening the World Federation of Therapeutic Communities conference, Dr HOLLINGWORTHsaid lawyers are aggressively seeking compensation for their clients over matters relatedto the duty of care.
And he says community institutions should not leap in haste from one approach to another,just because it happens to be the flavour of the month.
Dr HOLLINGWORTH has been accused of trying to cover up sexual abuse allegations withinthe Anglican Church in Brisbane at a time when he was the Anglican Archbishop.
And he's been accused of failing to help the victims of a paedophile teacher at a churchschool 12 years ago because of legal and insurance concerns.
