QLD: More roads no answer to city s transport problems
A US transport expert says building more roads in cities only increase inner-city traffic
congestion instead of easing it.
DON CHEN, visiting Brisbane, says authorities who build more roads to ease traffic
encourage urban sprawl and more road use.
Mr CHEN is a director of the Smart Growth Program of the Surface Transportation Policy
Project, a coalition of 250 US transport organisations.
