NSW: Trains disrupted by bushfires
City Rail says the Sydney to Brisbane XPT train due to leave Sydney later this afternoonhas been cancelled due to bushfires.
The train was due to leave Sydney Central Station at 4.24pm but has been cancelledbecause fires north of the city have closed roads and rail lines.
City Rail spokeswoman HEATHER GILMORE says the Hornsby Gosford rail line was closedearlier today and will remain closed until further notice.
She says there wre also minor delays on Sydney city services because of staff shortagescaused by the bushfires.
"These delays are minor" she said.
Commuters hoping to use Countrylink trains over the next 24 hours should ring 132232to check schedules, Ms Gilmore said.
